Tiny orange mushrooms at a boulder base — revisit

Unidentified small orange agaric Uncertain

Low confidence TM0025 1 August 2026 · 19:27 2 frames
IMG_4086#4086IMG_4087#4087

Angles captured. Two frames from nearly the same position, ~2 seconds apart.

Morphology

Two to four fruitbodies, caps ~8–15 mm, bright orange, convex. Compared with TM0012 the previous evening the cluster appears slightly larger and one additional fruitbody has emerged. Gills still not visible.

Habitat & substrate

Identical microsite to TM0012 — bare mineral soil at the drip line of a large granite boulder, same exposed root running through the frame.

Lookalikes & what rules them out

Same open questions as TM0012.

Notes

This is the most interesting thing in the collection. The boulder, the soil texture and the arching exposed root are the same as TM0012, 25 hours earlier. If confirmed, this is a genuine day-over-day growth observation of a single colony — exactly the kind of series that makes a long-running field guide worth keeping. Worth marking the spot.
